Long-Term, Natural-Looking Restorations

If you have a chipped, cracked, or malformed tooth, or are missing one or more of your natural teeth, dental implants can restore the functionality and appearance of your smile. We offer dental implants at our SyracuseNew York practice, and, for the benefit of our patients, handle every step of the placement process, including dental implant surgery. Though many dental practices refer their patients out for implant surgery, our team of dental professionals, led by Dr. James Vlassis, specialize in periodontal care and can provide comprehensive treatment. If you suffer from severe dental complications and are interested in learning more about dental implants, please contact our Syracuse dental practice today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Vlassis.

Benefits of Dental Implants

The benefits of dental implants are numerous: natural looking, durable, long lasting, and fully functional, dental implants provide an effective and practical solution to teeth that are damaged or missing. If you suffer discomfort as a result of damaged or missing teeth or are unable to properly chew or speak, a dental restoration can improve your quality of life. Maintaining your dental health is extremely important, as the health and function of the teeth can have a real impact on your comfort and well-being. Periodontal treatment is designed to ensure that the supporting structures of the teeth continue to function as they should, and dental implants, by acting as artificial roots for dental prosthetics, accomplish just that.

Dental Implants Procedure

Among the periodontal treatments we perform at our Syracuse dental practice is dental implant surgery. The process for placing a dental implant - a titanium root on which permanent replacement teeth can be secured. This is a mild, non-invasive procedure whereby the dental implant is placed and affixed with a temporary dental prosthetic such as a dental crown. The implant slowly fuses to the jaw bone through a process known as osseointegration; once this process is complete, the temporary prosthetic is replaced with a permanent version, allowing the dental restoration to function as a natural tooth. These implant teeth look and feel like natural teeth but are typically much stronger than your own natural dentition.
